Alone and in hiding, CharacterAsh struggles against a subtle and prolonged magical attack: recurring dreams that make going to sleep unbearable.  But even with magical assistance, warding off sleep is a monumental task, and when the dreams inevitably return they are all the more vivid.

This was more an experiment than a story; it's meant to 
convey the dark and subtle induced hallucination of a 
sleep-deprived mind.  I can't say I really //like// the 
writing ... but I think it largely did turn out as intended.
